If every saver was as ruthless as many of the posters here, the banks would inevitably have to cut the top rates because they couldn't afford them.
What is the likelyhood that every saver, or even half of them, are going to be a ruthless saver? Your fears are truly unsubstantiated
Other than a few peoples ruthless greed why shouldn't the banks be up front with customers about what rates they are paying?
A closed, secrative and confussing banking system only makes people fearful of using it - that makes for less customers.0
