What is the cheapest way to buy 3 adult tickets to London
My two friends and I are off to london for a few days going up on the Friday 11th June and coming back on the 13th June. We are three adults and we are going from Hastings to London Kings Cross.
Can anyone recommend the best/cheapest way to get train tickets for us.
I have just checked trainline.com and the cheapest we can get on there is £106.80 which sounds mega expensive considering we are only paying £32 between all three of us for 2 nights in a hotel up there.
Thanks in advance
Tich

An off peak return for one person via Tonbridge is £29.60.
An off peak return for one person via Haywards Heath is £27.80.
Groupsave allows three (or four) people to travel for the price of two, so three people can travel for £55.60. Groupsave tickets not available online.
Btw... never buy tickets from the trainline. Avoid their fees. Book via a train operating company, e.g. Southern Trains.0 -
Check with your train service if you can buy advance tickets. Sometimes a few quid for a first class ticket if you are quick and lucky.0

Check directly through the train operator's own web site which will always be cheaper than Train Line or other sellers.
You are looking for ADVANCE SINGLES which are the cheapest fares - usually, if you key in for returns, you will not be offered these cheap fares. You will need to buy the whole journey as two separate ones in each direction.
Advanced Singles become available 12 weeks before travelling, so you may have missed them, as they are limited in number.
I recently bought Adv Singles, Leeds to London for £13 in each direction.0 -
I didn't mention Advance Singles because there are never Advance Singles available on the route(s) the OP wants. :beer:0

I stand corrected - it's always a problem living in Yorkshire!
(Train fares to London are cheap, though!)0 -
If you are prepared to travel offpeak on the longer route via Lewes (Haywards Heath), then try a Southern daysave ticket in each direction. Book online on Southern's website at least a week in advance and get the tickets posted to you.
I think it will be £20 total in each direction - it's £10 a head but I think three travel as two0 -
thanks I will look into this tomorrow at the station.0
