Bad credit & mortgages

I've got bad credit but my other half hasn't. OH earns £23k - not enough to get a big enough mortgage for the price of houses where we live. With my income, we would be fine, but as I say, my credit is rubbish so wouldn't pass a credit check.

Any suggestions?

We've got 18 months until we get married and really really don't want to be living with my parents after that!

Thanks in advance, for any advice you can give.

TT

It depends how you determine bad credit...obtain copies of yr credit reports and meet with a whole of market adviser, who will be able to expain yr options..
  • Bad credit in my case is old CCJ (should, I think, have gone by next year), lots of addresses, lots of old missed payments. I haven't had any new credit for over 5 years, but I am stuck in a rut not being able to repair it because I can't get even basic credit!

I've never heard of a whole of market adviser - could you suggest where I'd find one?

    Thanks for replying.

    TT.
