Help with mortgage when over 60 ?

Does anyone please have any idea if a 61 year old woman, working full time, being made redundant unexpectedly could get any temporary help to pay a mortgage only taken out within the last year. This lady is fit and healthy and expects to find work fairly quickly but has no savings and whilst unemployed will only have basic state pension of just over £100 a week, not even enough for her mortgage. I know that help can be expected in this situation prior to retirement but she is panic stricken regarding the interim period at her age !. We see that she will get
Pension Credit and likely have her council tax paid but cant seem to find out about anything else and so have assumed no further aid would be available to her. That is unless anyone else out there knows any different ?
Thanks a lot !

She can apply for help with her mortgage via Pension Credit.

She will need an MI12. She completes part of it, forwards to her lender, they then return it to DWP.

...and she will get help straight away, there is no waiting period.

Thanks very much. Are you referring to just the tax credit or help over and above that entitlement. ?

I was talking about help with her mortgage, usually you have to wait 13 weeks in some cases like claiming IBJSA etc.
