Most of the ones on ebay from HK are fakes or poor copies. (Thats why thery're so cheap) There are losts of people who have done serious damage to laptops using some chargers.
Your only option is to complain to the seller. You may need to get a report from a PC repair place about the damage. There was a case a few months ago on the ebay boards and the poster managed to get the seller to pay for the damage to the Laptop. As the seller is in HK though this is not easy to do. You have nothing to lose but to try0 -
i thought it might be bit of a gamble buying from HK,but they had 99% possitive & 100s of feed back..so am i correct in saying as long as its the same output voltage this should of been fine0

All I can offer is that I bought a 'no-name' compatible battery on Ebay from HK for a Panasonic Lumix camera.
All was well for a month or so, then the usable time on this battery got shorter and shorter, and now even on full charge, it lasts for less than 10 photos, even less if the flashgun is used.
The original Panasonic battery lasts for weeks at a time, even with daily usage of the camera.
I'm not buying anything from HK anymore, not unless it's the genuine branded article.0 -
Maybe that applies to laptop power supplies but there are bargains to be had on some things. Most of the ones on ebay from HK are fakes or poor copies. (Thats why thery're so cheap) There are losts of people who have done serious damage to laptops using some chargers......
About 6 months ago I bought a 3.5 inch to 2.5 inch PATA disk adapter so I could use 2.5 inch PATA disks in my Sky+ box that is designed for 3.5 inch PATA disks.
I paid 99p with free postage. It arrived in less than a week and works perfectly.
I have no idea how anybody is making a profit.
I tested it with some old disks before using it just in case it caused a problem but it seems to be ok.
It is very similar to this one currently listed.
