    Hi Tinka,
Good grief, your situation is so difficult I'm astonished you are doing as well as you are. I don't have any specific advice to give you ..sorry, just some hugs and good wishes.
I have been in a desperate situation in the past so I know how you feel. Try not to worry to much, there is always a solution. Do as the more exeperienced on here have suggested and seek the advice of a credit charity.
Hope you have some light at the end of the tunnel soon.
    All the very best.

I would just like to thank you all for all your help and support so far. I have gone from feeling pretty suicidal to much more positive about everything.

Work for my OH was very dire for most of the week and by Thursday had only come home with £40 in cash things went crazy on Friday for the firm and has made him feel motivated again.

We have put a plan in place and are hoping if we can achieve it then we might be able to just scrape through and eventually start getting back on top again.

Just heard that about 4 new supermarkets are being built, 2 are local and the other 2 just 5 miles away so will be applying for all of those when applications become available.

Tinka - a few thoughts for you:
    1) why do you have to pay for a caravan that was stolen? check out the legalitites on this - it doesn't sound right :(
    2) are you claiming all benefits you are entitled to - ie jobseekers allowance, maybe you are entitled to council tax benefit? Also check whether the mortage rescue sceheme can be of any help to you - not sure if it's for loss ofearnings or for loss of a job to be honest.
    3) do you have any food parcel schemes or anything like that? lords larder? salvation army? any temples or faith places?
    4) have you looked on the up your income board to see if you can do anything on there - even avon or something with kids in tow might help? although you need to check how it would affect benefits though.
    Stay strong

Someone had problems on here a little while ago and an MSE member suggested maybe they could do ironing, cleaning for people.

Could you do anything like that in the short term? Please keep posting. I am thinking of you. It will work out eventually. I wish i could help you but i don't know enough.

    Afternoon everyone.

By browsing these forums I realised i paid too much tax last year as I was employed till October and paid £565 in tax and earnt £6600, so i have got my sister print the forms off HMRC for me and sent it off today. I know it will take around 8 weeks to get anything back but it will be something to look forward to.

My DP has said he is determined to work 5-6 days every week and has the intention of coming home with at least £50 in cash. This isn't including any contract work he might do and this is with his fuel already taken off. If he can manage this then we should be able to put £250-£300 in the bank every week!!

It sounds much easier than it is but he managed it on Monday, he had yesterday off as he needed to fit new brake pads to the car so just hoping the rest of the week is just as good as monday!

I have been doing loads of surveys over last few weeks and although I know it won't pay the bills at least the vouchers I get will help for the kids birthdays coming up in the summer.

I'm looking at a few things I can do to help but will have to wait and see if they work.

Tinka, do you use Dooyoo? It can be a good way to earn some extra pennies, I would say it could be reasonable to expect to make around £30-50 a month. Not a massive amount I know, but it will help and you can do it from home.
please don't feel like a bad mum, I sometimes wish i could get my son this and that, then i remember that the things that keep him happiest are things like going to the park and a bowl full of water and a little washing up liquid, and he 'cleans' his toys.

Like a PP said, they won't remember about the shoes things are anything like that. I'm not sure how you feel about this, and I don't know your childrens ages, but if you have a boy younger than mine (2.5) I have several pairs of Clarks shoes sitting about, all in good condition, which you are more than welcome to have if it will help.
