Ive just bought another dvd burner to work alongside another one and they are both the same brand but differant models, the problem i had was when i went to burn a back up with the new burner and at 8 speed it took 19 mins so i tryed again with the older one and it took 8 mins at the same speed etc, so i took it back to the shop and they have apparently replaced it but its taking the same amount of time and the burner is a x16 using x16 speed discs
at first the shop blamed the cables and claimed to have changed them and the burner, but is there anything else that could be slowing the burning process up?
Any help gratefully recieved as not sure what the problem could be.

Are you doing a direct DVD to DVD burn (`on the fly') or are you copying the files to your PC/Hard Disk first, then burning to DVD? (this is the best and safest way BTW)
Edit : Just a thought, how are the 2 DVD drives conected to the motherboard? Could be an IDE issue.0 -
yes im doing a quick copy but thats the way i have previously done it and its been fine also when i replaced this one it was a straight swapp one out one in also the guy in the shop checked the cables today and replaced them with faster ones. Im doing nothing differant, no differant discs to what i have done in the past

Thanks;)The more i save the more i can spend:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
