Me again...what does no grounds mean in appeal please?

Hi,

I recently did a thread about not carrying on with my appeal as felt it was too hard and stressful, but anyway have since decided to go for it and have just rung DWP to request my medical report and the advisor told me that they have put a note on the system to say "appeal recieved no grounds". I have recieved no letter regarding this.

I'm not sure why or what i can do about it, i did recieve 6 points in my medical and have been to my gp today and am being referred to the mental health team and he has just given me another 6 weeks sicknote.

The advisor says he will get someone to ring me to explain why but does this mean i cannot appeal as i thought everyone could. Any idea's where i go from here please? :(

Thanks for any help.

What did you appeal against? What did you put in the appeal letter?

Have you had written notification of some sort of disallowance or determination?

I appealed against my medical result of 6 points and the fact that they were stopping my esa.

I downloaded the letter from internet and just put the reason why i felt i was appealing. Maybe i have not put the right words in it but i said i felt the medical questions did not represent my health issues.

I have had no letter telling me anything and the first i've heard about it is today when i rung up to request my medical report. I was sent a letter on the 30/03 and sent the appeal letter couple of days after, the advisor could tell me no more than no grounds and is requesting a phonecall from medical team to explain.

I'm still being sent for my pathways to work interviews as i had one yesterday, so i don't understand it.

Well, no grounds for appeal may mean that they dont have enough information on which to decide whether the appeal is valid or not, but a WCA disallowance is definately an appealable decision.

Best waiting for the call back - if it arrives.
