DSGI Bullies and Harassment Techniques BEWARE!!

In Spring 2008 I purchased two laptops from the DSGI PC World Business Site. The purchases were under the account of my newly formed sole trader account with DSGI. I paid for the first laptop and a cheque was written separately by (lets call them my clients) for the second laptop. All was well and that was that.....or so I thought .

In October 2008 I received a red invoice for non payment of the second laptop! I emailed the address stating this had surely been issued in error after so much time had elapsed. A reply came back pledging to look into it. Nothing was ever heard until the Spring 2009. Same exercise exactly no more contact....until October/November 2009. Much the same sort of contact little help or advice came from this clearly incompetent admin team.

I then received an email from a chap who was abrupt and rude. This was then passed to an even more precocious madam who thought she was the Head Judge of the U.K. but clearly knew nothing!

They said I hadn’t paid, I said my clients, who were very wealthy people had paid separately and that DSGI, clearly in a muddle for the last two years, must have incorrectly processed the cheque outside of my account. I stated if they would send me a letter/affidavit or some formal document stating they had looked in depth at their accounts and confirm I hadn't paid I would take that as honourable and settle the £340 bill. If not go away and shut up as I was getting sick and tired of them.

DSGI Refused to comply point blank and lit Miss Attitude wrote a stroppy poorly constructed response, I could almost picture her having a tantrum!

The conclusion of this story has not yet happened.

I have written to the Directors with a cheque for now £440 which DSGI have added the additional £100 and I have said I will take them to the Small Claims court.

The purpose of this post is to make you aware that DSGI are bullies and incompetent fools and I urge anyone proposing to deal with them to think twice.

Looking at the other posts they seem nothing much more than money grabbing back street traders with a company name.

The only incompetence here seems to be you

It is your responsible to pay for goods you purchase. When you got the first letter you should have called them with full details of exactly when it was paid, how and all details. I.e namely the date the cheque was sent, cashed and name on it. If you dont have these it demonstrates poor business processes on your behalf. Problem solved.

The fact you ignored it further is more poor practice/incompetence

You also say you have now paid them again? Why would you do this if they had already been paid? Is it a case your clients didnt pay and due to poor record keeping on your behalf you didnt know this and have now ended up saddled with liability for it.

Overall I think you have handled this very poorly and need to look at your own processes and all the hassle and aggravation could have been easily avoided.

I would also add it was for you to show you had paid the bill (i.e details of cheque etc) and not for them to search a massive database and finance system over multiple sites to find a payment that may not even exist.

Why is it bullying and harressment to ask for money they are owed?

I think there is a little more to this story. Why was someone else (lets call them your clients) writing a cheque directly to a company you were dealing with? If you were being an above board middleman surely they pay you you then pay the company you are dealing with.

    Sounds pretty dodgy to me

Can't see why anyone would pay for anything twice - as the OP appears to have done.
Sorry no my mistake, the OP purchased one laptop and (lets call them your clients) purchased another, and now the OP has paid for the second one again
More to the story than meets the eye methinks.

I find it a bit rich that you are accusing others of "poorly constructed response" when your rant is very difficult to follow.

What exactly do you propose taking them to Court for?

The OP must be composing the blog as I type as there appears to be nothing there.

I do hope it is a good read, unlike the original post.
