Match.com - Have you had your membership renewed?

I was a member of match.com, I closed my account down about a year ago. Then last month match.com took £65 out of my account to renew my membership. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

PS try plentyoffish.com more people and it's free :)

No - but they didn't give me the 6months free despite me fulfilling the specified requirements...

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

  • Hi. Did you actually notify them that you wanted to cancel your membership? If not, it's in their terms and conditions that they automatically renew your membership.
"I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together." Marilyn Monroe
  • Yep, everyone I know gets caught out like this, even if they believe they have cancelled it. If you do cancel it, I suggest you take a screen printout to prove it.

yeah I cancelled my membership then one day I happened to see a workmate was on match.com. I couldn't resist the temptation and had a look at his profile that night. It appears that when I logged back on I was charged another £65 membership :(

I thought I would say that match.com don't work to the approved visa best practice regarding recurring transactions. They should inform you 14 days before they take money from your account. They should also provide a contact telephone number

Anyone that has been charged should take it up with their building society/bank/ credit card.
