Old fashioned doors, remember when they were made from real wood, not cardboard.

Also old front doors, lookout or follow the double glazing vans.

Look for old sheds & fence panels also.

I've made alot of mine out of scaffold planks, but I am getting into making them with no sides, just a heap of soil and a path of slabs all around. I like it because the sides will never rot :D Nowhere for the slugs to hide, well apart from under the slabs...

You could also try any local farmers markets for old wooden pallets. They're used to transport produce to the markets, but if a slat or two gets broken the whole pallet usually gets thrown away.

The wooden pallets are also ideal for making window boxes or planters for strawberries. Have made three and put wood preservative on them and lined with polythene. Well chuffed although there was some wasteage trying to prise them apart - incredible the number of nails in them.
