Help with faulty toy

I bought my little boy for xmas a sleepy igglepiggle. I however have lost the receipt:mad:. It is now faulty . I do have my bank statements as I bought it from ASDA, though not 100% sure which specific day as I am always in ASDA!.
Anyway this igglepiggle is now longer talking and I am cross as I paid £30 for it. Question is do I go to ASDA or PLAYSKOOL who make it.
Any suggestions/advice

I've learnt a new thing - I'd never heard of an igglepiggle (not a parent!), but Google has sorted that out. In any case, whatever an igglepiggle is, if you bought it from Asda then your contract is with Asda.
Which publishes some information about the Sale of Goods Act and your rights under it here; I hope you'll find it helpful. Briefly, if the fault was caused by the manufacturer then Asda should repair/replace it, but if the fault was caused by you then Asda doesn't have to do anything.
So...if the fault mysteriously appeared just after the igglepiggle accidentally went through a cycle on the washing machine, Asda is in the clear. If it just stopped making noise without you doing anything unusual to it, then (so long as Asda is satisfied that you did buy it from them) it will hopefully replace it.0 -
If Im correct ITNG is a Hasbro product (Playskool is part of Hasbro) In which case this is one of those rare times where you are probably better going to manufacturer. Drop Hasbro a quick email, you will probably find they will replace it straight away.
I don't know why but toy manufacturers always seem to have the best customer services!0 -
Thank you for taking the time to reply. I have just sent an email to Hasbro explaining and if no luck I will go back to ASDA.
Hoping it will be able to be sorted as my little boy adores Igglepiggle and I really dont' want to pay another £30ish to replace him.
Keeping my fingers crossed.0 -

Fingers crossed! I used to work in a toy shop and whenever I had to call a manufacturer they could never do enough to help. Hasbro and Character Options who made Bratz (R.I.P!!) were among the best.0
