Dying Li-Ion Battery, Can Anyone Save It?

The specs first:
Li-Ion Battery Pack 10.8v 4400 mAh
SIMPLO P/N: 916C5080F
Used on: Advent QC430
I have had a problem with this battery for a while now, ive had to keep the laptop on charge with the battery plugged in because when-ever I take it off power, the battery can only last 3 minutes tops.
Does anyone know how to save the battery or use a money-saving way of how to make it last longer - without having to buy an expensive replacement??

Li-Ionare not so easy*, but heres a trick I use for NiMh that may work!
your need drain the battery down as much as you can.. connect a little light to it it
Now charge it up again (full charge IE PC off but plugged in)
*the reason for this is because every re/charge small deposits form inside the electrolyte that inhibit lithium ion transport. so the capacity of the cell slowly diminishes.
I have heard but not tested, that putting them in a sealed container and putting them in the freeze over night helps, however I don't see how this would help, (it would help to stop storage but nothing more and won't effect Li-Ionare as much as it would effect NiMh that do loss charge quicker!
Hope that kinda helps

No unfortunately there isn't one. Once they are dead they should be disposed of safely. If you are really keen (and really confident you know what you are doing) it may be possible to rebuild battery packs with new cells - http://www.electronics-lab.com/articles/Li_Ion_reconstruct/ Beware though li-ion cells can be dangerous (explosive) and should not be messed with unless you absolutely know what you are doing.0
