Anyone recommend a good free pdf creator?

I'm working on an idea to design and sell something digitally - of course this will need to be in the form of a pdf.
I do not have Adobe writer and can't really afford to buy any pdf creating software yet. I know there are loads of free ones, Cute pdf and one that comes with Open Office (not keen to download that as I don't need it) - does anyone have any recommendations?
Thanks

I use PDF Creator http://www.pdfforge.org/ but you need to author your docs in say, Word and convert to PDF when the doc is finalised.

    Hello,

Try CutePDF or BullZip which are bith free. I actually prefer BullZip as it has a few more useful options (especially for image compression which has a big effect on file size)

Both install as virtual printers so you can create a PDF from any program just like you would print to a real printer.

  • If your digital product is quite image heavy, and if and when you are ready to buy one, I got Serif Page Plus last year which was about £80 and is very good. BUT if you do get it, their marketing people spam you to boooooggery and even though I opted out or calls, had quite a few before I got shirty and threatened to report them. Then they got shirty back and told me I was going to miss out on all their offers and somehow implied that I would be living less of a life because of it.

Do CutePDF or BullZip place their logo on each page footer? I think CuteFTP might.
I know that PDF Creator (see link above) does not nor does DoPDF http://www.dopdf.com/ which is simple to install, no logo and no converters add-ons neded to make it work.

PDF Creator and DoPDF both allow unrestricted commercial use in their license terms by the way.
