Need new wood back door - advice please

On the hunt for a new back door as my previous one has warped terribly.

Its a listed building so I need it to be similar to the old one (strips of wood painted black) but fancy replacing it with a barn door (ie opens in two sections).

But I'm having real trouble finding one.

I usually buy from Howdens, what I'm looking for it this.....

http://www.howdens.com/product-range...triple-glazed/

But with no window.

Current one looks like this....

http://www.howdens.com/product-range...od-doors/fl-b/

And I think is softwood....hence the warping!

Also I would like some quality fittings - storm thresholds, decent handles and locks etc. Very keen on getting a decent seal as was cold in my kitchen this year!

Anyone know where I can read up about the thresholds and fittings and where I can get a door from?

The Howdens one comes in at about £250 which I thought was a good price for a solid door, pity its not what I want!

Edit: I am going to give up on the stable door idea. Can anyone recommend where I can buy a decent quality door like my current one - the Howdens one in my link did not seem decent quality and is (I think) softwood.

I have been recommended Drews for fittings - anyone recommend a type of seal I should use?

Thanks!

    Hi Da Murphster,

FOR ironmongery I would suggest www.ironmongerydirect.com the quality is generally good ,give them a bell and ask for a catalogue as its more comprehensive than the website..

For your door you could try www.jbkind.com they do a range called "Cumbrian" cottage style. They're not FLB style like your existing but they are similar and may look fine on your listed property.

You may struggle to find really good quality doors off the peg and may be better off going to your local Joinery...

PS steer clear of Wickes,Homebase,B&Q , Screwfix etc as their doors and Ironmongery is rubbish IMO. Poor quality and won't last.
