Mobile Broadband Dongle Question

I currently have mobile broadband with T-Mobile. I have the white dongle with about an 80ft lead on it. If I was to buy the stick dongle (technical term) off Ebay could I put my sim card in and will it work?

In my non expert opinion I would say yes but I don't want to go ahead and buy it in case I'm wrong.

    probably..

puzzled as to why are you using a lead (and so long), anyway? doesnt the dongle plug directly into USB socket?

The dongle I have is a replacement as when I signed up at the beginning there was a crack in it.
It came with a very long lead. One end of the lead is a usb plug and the other is a much smaller one. I can only describe it as the size of the lead that goes in the back of a Nintendo DS.
I'd like to think I can buy a stick and put my sim card in but I want to make sure.

The £10 is like a PAYG mobile telephone credit. You use it when you want to use it.
So, you can shift £2 of the £10 credit for one day's access, which is then extended to 30 days access on that occasion only. You then have £8 left to use when you are ready to do so, after your 29 days of free surfing.
