Corralejo Fuerturventura

Just booked a week here later in the year. Wondered if anyone had any must see places to visit while we are there - two of us plus 8 year old so not fussed about nightlife. As DS is an only one places that will entertain him would be great.

Thanks

Be prepared for mosquitoes at night in bedrooms. Use a plug in insecticide dispenser.

Oasis park very good. Free blanket trip not bad but don't have the garlic prawns for lunch. Our blanket trip escort was rather "Gobby". Fishing not bad.

    Visit market and music square.

We had a fabulous hoilday here 2 yrs ago. Loved everything about the resort and felt it was perfect for families. Plenty of shops which pleased me, loads of resturents and bars but not at all rowdy. Lovely atmosphere everywhere. Be sure to go to the market, we went 3 times great for spending a morning, loads of africans selling wonderful stuff. Really good waterparks for the kids and plenty of min golf etc... We didnt notice mosquitoes but it is a little breezy.

Enjoy it I am sure you will not be disappointed. Wish I was going:D

I normally go in winter, they may not be about in summer when it is dryer.

Oh you will absolutely love it - we were there few years back it was fabulous really really enjoyed it. You can also take a short boat trip across to either tenerife or lanzarote can not remember which but it is well worth it. Beaches are fantastic and so clean. There is a beautiful chinese down by the harbour where they do the most gorgeous spring rolls mmmmmm and there is an english restaurant on the main street run by english people who only use english products - the time we were there they were using Denny bacon lol
  • is a fantastic place to go, you'll have a brill time! my kids loved oasis park, and also baku water park, it has the slides etc also aquarium, swim with the sealions, and opens a little fairground at night. try looking up fuerterventura grapevine or gazette for more ideas!!!

I went to Corralejo for 10 nights in Jan/Feb this year.

It's worth driving round some of the roads to see the wild chipmunks and feed them some peanuts.

The Cueva del Llano is a cave (lava tube) that is worth the visit, about 15 min drive outside Corralejo

Watch out for Holiday Club cons! They seem to have guys who ask you to do a quick survey, then as a 'thank you' you can have a lucky dip prize. This is when you 'win' a holiday and you have to go with them to receive your prize which will be a hard sell!

Seven of us have just come back 3 weeks ago from Caleta, Fuerteventura and for the first time me and our youngest grandson (only ones) got bitten to bits by mossies. Half way through holiday used a plug in and really helped get rid of them.
Jandia is worth seeing for the beautiful white sand carribean style beaches (clothes optional here) quite a journey from Correlejo though as at the other end of the island.
