Study Beds

Today on 60 Minute Makeover, my daughter caught sight of this:

http://www.studybed.co.uk/modelrange.html

She loved it and although it would be ideal for her room, (her room is so small and such an awkward shape) there's no way I'd pay that amount of money for one of those!

I wondered if anyone had seen any others similar to this idea, and if so, at a much cheaper price?

Thanks,

Sal

If you don't need the bed bit to rotate up and down then there are cabin beds, and raised beds with seating or study areas underneath, in Argos et al.

The difference in price will more than pay for a shiny new pink laptop or whatever daughters can be bribed with these days.

    Thanks Owain

The problem we have is that the room has a part that sticks out (this is for the slant of the stairs) and so the room isn't long enough for one of those beds. It's a difficulty getting anything to fit into her little box room unfortunately.

If you can post some dimensions (you say part of the room sticks out but I can't picture it) someone might be able to give suggestions.
  • If it's a bump-in-the-floor sort of 'slant' then a carpenter will be able to build a mattress deck wall-to-wall at the appropriate height, and you can then put a desk etc under there. (Guard rails and ladder handrails as appropriate.)

It might only need to be at step height to overcome the bump, with slide-in low level drawers for extra storage.
