8 months to charge me...is this legal?

In February I lost my job and got some money so I paid off my accounts including littlewoods, I asked them twice to confirm it was the full balance including buy now pay later items as I knew I had one item on that. They confirmed this twice, I was sent a statement in March that put my balance at nil, this month I recieved a statement with £99 on for an item I brought in Aug 09, this transaction was lost and then found and just put on my statement with no apologies or explainations! I'm fuming....are there any laws to protect from this as it seems ridiculous!

Do you owe the £99 or not, if so what's the big problem.0

they have up to 6 years to ask you for what you owe, if you know you are due them this money then I would arrange to pay as it could affect your credit rating...0
