Sale of goods act regarding a gift

I wish to buy a gift but the birthday is not for another month
and i have read that under sale of goods act you can state this at time of purchase so the warrenty dose not start untill that date as the item is not going to be used untill that date.
i am unable to locate the relevent part of the act can anyone help

The Sale of Goods Act has nothing to do with warranties which are provided independently by the manufucturer0
