Mildew/mould in bathroom

I know there are numerous threads about this subject. Just wondered if anyone had ever treated mould with Roundup? I was at Homebase this morning and the chap recommended that I buy a spray bottle of Roundup to treat the mildew/mould that is on my bathroom wall prior to painting. I also read in the Readers Digest DIY manual that bleach doesn't kill the roots of a fungus, just cleans it up etc but doesn't kill it off whereas a fungicide will. Should I go ahead and get the Roundup and treat the walls or should I use something else? Would anyone with any info please post, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

says it all when some muppet tells you in homebase to use roundup. It is designed to be used outside, as per instructions.
How about this for crazzzzy idea, use a fungicide wash for painted walls prior to painting. Dulux trade do one.
As a side note, you should install proper ventilation in the bathroom to stop the mould.go on, adopt a greyhound

There is an extractor fan in the bathroom but it's about as much use as a chocolate fireguard. I run the dehumidifier after baths etc, wallpaper that was their prior though was just slapped on the wall with no treatment beforehand.
I do have a steam cleaner so I'll give that a bash too. I have special kitchen/bathroom paint to apply to cope with condensation etc so hopefully once I've treated the corner appropriately it will be ok. Thanks for your replies, much appreciated. :-)“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. In your soul are infinitely precious things that cannot be taken from you.” - Oscar Wilde0 -

Just recently got a new extractor fitted by the HA. I think once I treat the walls and paint it then it shouldn't be as much as a problem. The dehumidifier does a good job.
