some advice - scam or not?

I am looking to purchase a one of the new macbook pros, after searching ebay i cam across this

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Apple-MacBook-Pro-2-0GHz-1GB-100GB-SuperDrive-15-4_W0QQitemZ170015840308QQihZ007QQcategoryZ171QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

the seller looks genuine, but the price just seems...well too good to be true.

this would normally set you back about £1600 but he is offering it at under £1200, i would of expected it to be a refurb buts its brand new in box. Ive checked the feedback and it seems real but it concerns me that he will not accept paypal.

what do you guys think??

If you can travel to W1 From where you live then buy it and collect and pay cash on collection...Or ask for contact details through ebay to get a phone number to ask questions about it to see if he is genuine ..you might also want to ask for a pic of it to then you will see if he has the actual macbook in question...I hope this is of some help...

It looks genuine - but as above I'd be tempted to collect it myself

I guess what his answer would be is that is for him to know and you to find out... but if in doubt then go with your gut feeling cause it is a lot to lose...another thing I didn't mention is check out what his feedback is for ...such as he may have sold 500 things at 50p that people are really happy with just to build his rating.....

I would say the seller doesn't accept paypal as he seems to prefer you to pick up the item. If he accepted PP then the buyer collected the item, the buyer could then do a chargeback for good's not received.

Personally for such a high priced item, if I couldn't pick it up I'd not bother buying it.
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:
  • He has the option to collect and pay cash - which is what i would personally do.
Paypal would charge him over £40 quid for the payment and you save yourself £20 on the special delivery cost as well if you collect.
