Taps issue-whats the problem?

I cant work out whats wrong with my bathroon taps!

Sometimes when I turn on either the bathroom sink hot or cold water tap theres a pause before the water just shoots out excessively..sorry about the description by the way!

It seems like there may be a bit of air in them?

Thanks
