Wii error

Hi, hope this is in the right place.
We keep getting a message on the Wii usually part way through a game. It says An error has occurred. Press the eject button, remove the game disc and turn the power off. Please read the Wii operations manual for more information.
My DD says it only happens with Mario Kart so could it be the game rather than the console?
Thanks

Hi there,
Does the disc have any obvious scratches on it? Perhaps try cleaning the disc surface to remove fingerprints etc and try it again. Failing that do you know anyone with a copy of the game you could try or perhaps someone with a Wii that you could try your game in? This might help to pin it down to a hardware or disc issue.

Its the Disc,
We have the same problem with Ben10 and Wii Sports and all our other discs work fine.0 -
Thank you both. There aren't any obvious scratches and I tried cleaning it. I might take it to gamestation and see if they can put it in their special machine.
Good idea about trying it in someone elses Wii;)
So relieved it isn't the console, this one was free and I really don't want to have to replace it.Sealed pot member 954:D

No worries, its only what I would check myself. Generally discs are fairly hardy when it comes to scratches/fingerprints etc so I might hold off on the visit to Gamestation until you've tried another Wii (if you can of course!
), doing this might save a couple of quid on the cleaning cost! Useful is beautiful0
