  • I recieved a letter from the baliffs mid October for the sum of about £770 so I decided to start sorting it out and pay them £100 a week. They said they couldnt accept any payment without entering my parents house and making a levy.
    So Now heres my new postion and heres where I need advice:

    I sent the baliff a third letter along with another payment which said that I would not be paying the 2nd visit charge due to the inaccuracies of what the baliff had posted through my door (the balance wasnt the same) I have just recieved the following letter Today from them:

    With reference to your recent letter the contents of which have been noted.
    I regret to inform you however, that your file has now been passed to the baliff for further action.
    All offers of payment should now be made directrly to Mr. X, telephone number XXXX XXXXXXXXX
    yours faithfully Penham Excel.

    I am now writing back to them (with no payment) saying I have recieved their letter and Ive asked does this mean i can not make any more payments direct to them? and if they have an addresss for this baliff for correspondence?

    advice of the matter is appreciated.

  • hi thanks for the advice. i have done a debt remedy and a dmp came up as my best option,i have recievied booklet and emails with details of my next step.on the email it shows £175 a monthly deposit to pay,does this mean i only pay that out every month rather than the £700+ that i pay now.how long does it take for it all to be put in place?

    I am currently on a DMP with CCCS which has been going well, but for te last couple of months Santander have added £45 to my credit card debt of £3255.91?

    On the statement it lists it as a new transaction, Debit Manual Adjustment Reage Credit, does anyone know what this means??

    Hi chunkey and thank you for your message

    This can be so frustrating, especially when all the other creditors have agreed to stop the interest and charges and you are doing all you can to try and clear the debt as soon as possible!

    In most cases, there is nothing you can do to stop interest and charges being added.

    However, you could call our client support team and let them know about your recent letter from Barclaycard.
    As they have access to your account, they will be able to advise you further

    You should try to continue to maintain the payments.

    You could ring the person they have asked you to make payments , for the address for the payments.
    You should come to an arrangement either directly with the bailiffs or ask the local authority to withdraw the warrant and take the debt back. Most local authorities will want to come to an arrangement with you if it results in regular payments.

    Hi ineedsumadvice and thank you for your message

    The deposit is based on the amount that is left after paying all your priorities.
    This is then calculated on a pro rata basis so that all your creditors get a fair share of what you are able to realistically afford.

    As soon as we receive all the necessary information and paperwork from you, then your DMP should be up and running fairly quickly.
    In the meantime you need to write to your creditors using our template letter explaining you are going on a plan with us and send this with an offer of payment you can realistically afford for this month.

    I set up my DMP with CCCS in July 2009. I have four payments left until my debts are cleared. What happens after this? Do CCCS send a letter to me to say that my DMP is finished or do my creditors send me letters?

    I'm am currently on a DMP with yourselves and all is going well. I am due my review in January, my circumstances hopefully will have changed with regard to a jobs enabling me to increase my income.

    Barclaycard and RBS have only agreed my DMP for a year. Do i write to them asking them to continue the agreement or do CCCS send letters around the time of my review?

    If you fall behind with your payments, the creditor may be able to repossess the goods. Details will be written in the terms of the agreement in the box; ‘repossession: your rights’. This explains how much you need to have paid to stop the creditor taking the car.
