Rapid Reclaim.....back to square 1?

Up until a fortnight ago, I was in stage 2 of JSA ( I believe this to be up to 26 weeks)
Unfortunately I had a period of sickness, which the Jobcentre would not allow me to have as it was my third. The day they told me this information, they closed my JSA claim, and I rang the contact centre to make a new claim. (I was well by this stage,as it had taken over a week for the Jobcentre to conclude I couldnt be paid for that period)

I had my rapid reclaim interview at the Job centre yesterday, and was informed that I was now back to square one with my claim.
In approx 6 weeks times, I will have to attend the "back to work group session" again, and that I am not eligible for work trials.

Is this information correct? I was under the impression, that as I had only been "signed off" from JSA for less than 2 weeks, my claim would continue from stage 2??
I used to be Snow White, but I drifted.

Count yourself lucky my friend. Apparently some people can get sanctioned for up to a month, 3 months or even 6 months which is a ridiculously long time to wait.

I think it could be down to each individual case how they proceed when a claimant signs off. Will you be able to backdate your new claim?

The usual procedure is that the claims are linked and that you carry on from where you left off. It maybe worth checking that they are correct.
