Rapid Reclaim.....back to square 1?

Up until a fortnight ago, I was in stage 2 of JSA ( I believe this to be up to 26 weeks)
Unfortunately I had a period of sickness, which the Jobcentre would not allow me to have as it was my third. The day they told me this information, they closed my JSA claim, and I rang the contact centre to make a new claim. (I was well by this stage,as it had taken over a week for the Jobcentre to conclude I couldnt be paid for that period)
I had my rapid reclaim interview at the Job centre yesterday, and was informed that I was now back to square one with my claim.
In approx 6 weeks times, I will have to attend the "back to work group session" again, and that I am not eligible for work trials.
Is this information correct? I was under the impression, that as I had only been "signed off" from JSA for less than 2 weeks, my claim would continue from stage 2??

Count yourself lucky my friend. Apparently some people can get sanctioned for up to a month, 3 months or even 6 months which is a ridiculously long time to wait.
I think it could be down to each individual case how they proceed when a claimant signs off. Will you be able to backdate your new claim?0 -

The usual procedure is that the claims are linked and that you carry on from where you left off. It maybe worth checking that they are correct.0
