Years & years because they spread outwards via underground roots, so new canes & roots are added every year, and the space occupied also increasesWhen an eel bites your bum, that's a Moray0

Do the canes need cutting back once the season has ended or is this done before the new growth starts in spring?0

Cheers! I have planted 10 new canes last month and I'm told that you don't always get them to bear fruit in their first year? Is there some secret to getting good crops - manure is one tip that was given!0

Dont know if this helps but I bought some first year ones last year and i couldnt believe the amount of raspberries they produced - i did plant them in a huge pot with lots and lots of of donkey pooh! And watered them with fertiliser a few times over the summer!0
