Advice, buying a flat in a Peabody Estates

Hi there,
I'm looking to buy a first property at the moment, and am considering buying a flat on a Peabody estate. Is there anything specific about Peabody estates that I should know about them before I consider buying? (aside from the usual things to consider when buying) The two flats I have seen are being sold (although I've noticed that lots of them seem to be offered for auction rather than sold, I'm not sure why this is?) They seem to be on at a very reasonable price.
I'm looking at one of estates in Hammersmith, if anyone has any experience/ knowledge of Peabody estates, and whether there's anything I need to be careful of, I'd be very grateful!
Thanks!

you might find it hard to get a mortgage, are they very high rise? the fact that a lot seem to be going for auction might indicate this, or they could have short leases or very high maintanence charges, you need to check it all out0

I know both peabody estates in Hammersmith really well. Personally I wouldn't recommend living there. The ones off Fulham Palace rd are the best looking but hardly a place I would like to live with the drug dealing in the stairwells.
Not a place I would ever want my first home ever.:exclamatiScams - Shared Equity, Shared Ownership, Newbuy, Firstbuy and Help to Buy.
