    (COL =Cries out loud)

im not sure what op stands for
im dyslexic i could run a spell check but this is my diary so i am going to write it my way !
yes i know its amazing i get anywhere with my spelling but what you find with us dyslexic people is that we make up for it in personality and creativity belive me its got me quite far in life although i did invest in a laptop so when i meed to send things to my boss its perfect .
but youll find alot higher wage earners than me who have this problem ... tom cruise, cher, walt disney, thomas edison, hans christian anderson, john lennon ohh i could go on .....lol
a troll well im sure ive been called much worse
  • Spelling is NOT the sign of a troll... I know several people who are gifted writers but who can't spell... how mean!

thanks ellesbells not all of us can be perfect can we lol

    Hey Babie Gurl,
I have just found this forum and popped in to say hi. It sounds like you're making important and really good steps in the right direction for you. :)
For mothers day think about what your mum really likes, for my mum's 50th we made hera photobook with all her friends/family pics in it and she loved it...they're not too expensive and can mean a lot. Tokens for stuff like ironing, dog walking etc can be good...you give up your time and can create the vouchers yourself. There's also some great bits in the forums about hampers...you could make a pamper hamper...bubble bath, mini bottle of wine etc?!! ohh i did look at this last night its a fab idea i was thinking that maybe i should put a basket of food that makes up my mums favorite food and then cook it for her ?? i love cooking !!!

As for food...make sure you're getting all vits/ minerals you need and taking exercise...it can be free like walking a bit more...taking stairs and not lift etc (I don't work for NHS by the way!!) i know i think my body fat has gone up 100% i will defo start some excercise but its like money saving you have to be commited and i dont like exercising alone
I've been home cooking for me and OH for a while now and it saves us a fortune plus I like knowing what's going in my food!!- writing my meal planner for the week

Good luck, stay positive and don't deny yoursself of EVERYTHING because things get too boring then!! :)
    this i like the best!!:T
  • I tried not to comment on the Dyslexia comment Babie gurl, I've also got a disability that is not widely recognised as some people are harsh and don't like anyone who is 'different'.
The food thing sounds fab, I'm sure your mum will love it. As for exercise I used to powerwalk with a friend...we felt silly at first but it really helps clear your head and you can chat too!!

Good luck with the menu planning, I always get stuck on lunch ideas...sandwiches or pasta are my fall back options! :D
Married in 2016. Bought our first home in 2017. Expecting our first baby in November 2017
    :):):)
Frugal & thrifty as much as possible.
    ;)

thought i would just update i am hopefully going to pay all my debit off this year i need to pay £780 per month and guess what im doing it!!! although i must admit i have never been so skint in my life ! although i suppose if you look at it i have always been this skint just didnt realise it !
everyone thought i was mad in january when i decided to b debt free this year lol but now everyone can see me paying huge amounts every month and now want know the secrets i tell them all how much this site and everyone on it has helped me! i am so greatfull !!! love you guys !:T:T:T
  • Hope you don't mind me chipping in here but I read the comments about living on £100 a month for food as being easily achievable?

I find that an incredible assertion. Can anyone seriously manage on a food bill like that?!! I am single and have changed my shopping habits all round due to debt difficulties and when food shopping I always look for "deals" and non branded and cheaper items wherever possible and my monthly food bill is in the region of £160 to £180 minimum.

£100 a month for food i would suggest is a worthy target (as is cutting any costs) but totally unrealistic for the average person.
  • Brill progress BG!! Well done- you must be made up!!

Edit: Thinkpositive- I'm single and manage to feed me and my dogs for £65 a month- it is doable!

i know what you mean but i am only now starting to understand how to lower this i would normaly spend what i liked ( i am a big fooody !) but i would also waste alot i find the old skool board best for this i didnt know you could frezeze half of what i do now ! and i used to buy alot of packet rubbish just because it was cheep or so i thought but if you cook your meals once a week and freeze them you get so much more for your money ! for example chilli used to pay £3.20 a meal but i can buy mince for £2.50 a can of tomatos £19p beans 19p some spices from th cuboard this makes three meals and tastes much better!
i have to say i now have a passion for cooking as much as i like eating!! i am sure i could still save more money but i am still learning i have just seen a recipie for making pitta bread never done bread before but at £1.20 a loaf im willing to give it a go ! lol
