If it wasn't that an innocent user was affected by it I would tell them where to go and tell my bank not to pay it.

The amount paypal takes off its user every week just by freezing their accounts because they 'think' you are doing something wrong is scandalous. They make millions of pounds a year ripping off their users and taking their money.

I would personally be quite happy to see them lose out financially for once instead of their users.

I got this email too, they have my account at -£328.something now, BUT only 1 payment has gone into my bank and that was nearly a month ago! Telephone help insists that I have two payments and demanded a 'certified bankers letter' sent by fax within 7 days. I somehow think that this mess is not going to be easy to resolve and that PayPal isn't going to compensate for my time in dealing with it. Grrrrrr!!!!! =o(

But you aren't "footing the bill for their mistake" its not costing you anything is it? You are just returning the money.

They haven't debitted the person twice, they've credited me twice. My main concern is this is money I haven't got, I've tranferred exactly what was in my PayPal account and they've processed this twice.

I am going to give the money back, because I am an honest person, but this isn't really money I have available at the moment, I sell on eBay for a reason
    :(

I just wanted to know where I stand...

They will make life difficult for you if you wish to continue using EBay and will probably eventually start chasing you and this could affect your credit rating. If you are having difficulties why not give them a ring and see what can be done?

    (Probably not a lot)
