help can they get your calculations wrong
I am with Npower and get a combined gas & electric bill ,the last 3 quarters have been actual readings ,the bill that i have just received are estimated for both gas & electric .My bills are always quite high around £200 for elec & £300 for gas ,i paid in full for both so 3 months ago my balance was 0 for both just got my combined bill and its a whooping £1200:eek: how can this be ? I have rang to give them my actual readings ,the estimated ones are more or less right .The only thing i can think of is they have calculated my bill completly wrong .I could understand it if we had been getting estimated bills for a few quaters but my meters have been read by npower . I can only ring them tomorrow now because i have just given them my real meter readings but as i say they numbers are more or less right to what they have estimated .
Can anyone think of any reason why my bill could be so high ? ive not even thought about how i can pay it back if it is right

What was your combined bill this time last year?
What period of time does the bill cover? I know they are accurate meter readings.
Coldest winter for 30 years could have a big effect. What central heating set up do you have? gas boiler, electric storage heaters, immersion heater, etc. etc.?
Have you ever considered a monthly direct debit?0 -
Post your usage for both fuels for the last quarter and someone can have a look at it. By not using monthly DD you are paying a premium price because you are locked out of all the cheapest tariffs. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

The last quarter includes most of the coldest winter for thirty years, the previous winter we only had two weeks of snow during February. In addition prices per KWH have increased year on year. If your bills are normally £500 a quarter (high in your own words) have you considered addressing your usage? When was the last time you fed your usage in KWH (not £££) into a price comparison site?Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
