hiya
it's xp version i have ie8 installed already and want to keep it
when i reight click on start i don't see anything like ms updates
it's just this 1 update i don't want installed but would like to keep it as auto updates0 -
I think you'll have to install this update given it was a movement forced on Microsoft by the European Union rather than a choice.
You can simply pick IE8 from the browser choice screen and be done with it.0 -
Its been a while since I delved into XP but so far as I recall if you goto MISCROSOFT UPDATES
Then goto CUSTOM
Find the update and I think if you RIGHT CLICK it you can set it to be removed (hidden) from the selection process
This is certainly true of VISTA (Via adifferent method) and im pretty sure I managed similar on XP:idea:0 -
Correct Rik, just tick the box " Do not show these updates again " sorted.0

And for the record, that particular update is NOT needed. But even if its installed you can still use whatever you like:idea:0
