As of Sept 06, my OH will be studying university full-time. Will this affect my award, and if so, in what way?

            Your award for what?
If you get child tax credit then any child care allowance would stop as it needs both of you to be working (unless he is also disabled)0

OP, you probably need to put a bit more information so posters can point you in the right direction.
 Are you working?
 Do you have children?
Do you rent your property or have a mortgage?
 Any disabilities?
etc, etc - HTH~A mind is a terrible thing to waste on housework~0

            Hi again!!
If your OH is going to Uni full time they won't be eligible to pay council tax so you'd receive a 25% discount.
Their student loan award is based on your previous year's income which the LA will advise you of. You'll have to supply evidence of the household income for the previous year.
Student income isn't counted for tax credits so your award should stay the same. You need to inform tax credits though.
If childcare is needed then your OH can apply for an award through the LA - if eligible this will be paid in 3 amounts with any other student finance award.
Anything else ie free prescriptions/healthcare/school dinners depends on your household income.
Your OH can also get an NUS card which gives discounts in most shops/cinemas etc. I always ask everywhere!
Other sources of advice are the Local Authority, the Uni student welfare and CAB. HTH~A mind is a terrible thing to waste on housework~0

Going to uni is probably going to make your income a lot higher, unless you're not alredy earning mega bucks! He'll get a loan and various grants, although the system changed this year and I don't know the script for new applicants there are still loads of grants. I get £14500 a year in loans and grants (including tuition fee payment) plus my wage, tax credits, Child Benefit, DLA etc.
You are claiming the disabled premium on the tax credits aren't you? Its worth an additional £30-60 a week to you.
Your husband can also apply to the Alccess th Learning Fund when he strats uni- priority is given to mature students and those with children/other commitments. I received £1365 a few months back and I wasn't even going to apply because I thought I was over the income limit!
 What's your OH studying?0

            Mental health nursing.0

Is that the same as nursing? If so funding would be via a bursary which has slightly different rules. Best to check with the University first and go from there.~A mind is a terrible thing to waste on housework~0
