Why do you think you need to remove it? Lead leaches into water (to a small extent) in water supply pipes. It doesn't affect gas.

Gas meter - phone your gas supplier.

What has this lead pipe done to offend you exactly?

is the pipe dented or damaged in any way? if not it is fine as it is and there is no reason to change it at all - if it is then you can call 0845 605 6677 and ask for a check for safety on it.

9 times out of 10, it'll be National Grid. Only in new builds/conversions is usually an Independent Gas Transporter, OP - phone the supplier if you're unsure and they'll give you the telephone number for the relevant company. :)

It's not just IGTs. Parts of Scotland, etc have a different regional distributor.

There is nothing wrong with lead pipe as long as it isnt leaking.

What has the lead pipe on your meter got to do with the gas fire anyway??

If the lead pipe is on the meter outlet then if you want it changing, you need to get your own GSR eng in to do it and pay him.

Lead pipe on the inlet between ECV and regulator..?

No problem. If it works then it doesnt need changing.

If its defective in some way (how would you know?),then it is an issue for your gas supplier and has nothing to do with the gas emergency service.

Your supplier may take the view, having taken into account your phone conversation with them, that they would like to replace such an inlet pipe and the meter regulator.

If so,they will arrange it and pay for it.
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..
