Which one? Baroness Warsi - Conservative!?

Abbott I don't like, for the reason you state, pretends to be left wing and then send kids to private schools..

I'd have liked to see Anne Widdecombe become house speaker. She's have sorted them all out!! :D

I agree with your husband's conclusion; although I hear that Mrs Cameron's family are very wealthy. ;):)

Yeah - her and Dave spend their Sunday afternoons setting fire to huge piles of money in the back garden just to get rid of the stuff. It's not all that environmentally friendly but gosh darnit they just can't move for the stacks of moolah everywhere, the poor dears.

oh dear... maybe it was a 'drun ken' episode, most of them were... sure she wasn't tory... but then i guess that might have been the draw.... but no good if i didn't remember she was, in fact, conservative  seriously, that does kind of ring a bell.... oh dear... still not voting for them :D

In defense, she does come across far more 'normal' than most Tories.

I'm in a Tory stronghold, so my vote will never count. Thankfully this means the political machines stay clear of the area - I don't want them clogging up the local roads!! :)

I have this wierd idea that most Tories come across far more normal than most Tories (are supposed to come across). If you know what I mean...it's all about prejudices and stereotyping...

I think the Tories can be seen as smarmy and distant. Having said that I recongnise the Labour front bench appear no different.

I liked the conservative guy from tower block of commons, Tim Loughton I think his name was, he didn't back away from speaking politics with a group of (somewhat hostile) youth's.

I appreciate Conservatives are trying to appear more compassionate, but constant barrages of attacks on Labour, rather than selling an image of another way, doesn't always come across particularly well.

We must be watching different interviews... the ones I see show the Labour party being far more abusive about the Conservatives than the other way around!

Poor Nick Clegg - tries to keep a level line between them, they're both as bad as each other, while hoping to persuade us that a vote for his party won't be wasted. In this election, maybe more than any other, a protest vote won't be a good idea.

On the subject of leaders' wives, my OH pronounced Nick Clegg's wife as the only conceivably fanciable one ie normal looking.

Given his past record in such matters, I would suggest that his judgement may be impaired.:p
In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:

Yes, the Labour dirty tricks smear campaign seems to be in full force this time around. I was thinking specifically of the times Labour have done something the conservatives were advocating, and instead of saying well-done for coming around to their way of thinking, they attack them for stealing their ideas.

Protest votes don't work particularly well under first past the post, here's hoping it's a hung parliament, and they eventually move to another voting system, like preferential voting.

I haven't caught too much of the parties (marketing) campaigns so far, I've been trying to avoid them. :)

I think this applies to most parties apart from the BNP really. Most Lib Dems are not sandal wearing beardie weardies for instance.

People like to fall back on cliche and stereotype to reinforce their own prejudices.
