childrens feet as as different as fingerprints. one make may suit one child but not another - its best to go with what i said above - but watch the child walk in them - if they seem comfortable get that pair - if not try another brand. some kids seem more comfortable in asda shoes! depends on how standard their feet are!
I think all of my children have standard feet. For school they have all had shoes from Asda, Tesco and ShoeFayre, none of them have ever had a blister or any problems . Obviously it is different if they have narrow or wide feet or any medical or orthopaedic problems.

I've spent the past 20 years in cheapo trainers and have beautiful feet :p.

My son wears a mixture. He gets the 'required' clarks fitted for £30 and he gets second hand clarks fitted by me. You can't trust the shop assistants (just last week he got measured wrong in clarks and I just walked out as I knew they were wrong, next day tried a different shop. His one pair of startrite were profesionally fitted and returned after three hours of just sitting in the pram as they left red marks on his feet.)
He's only two, but can tell you what he likes - shoes are either 'new shoes!' =good fit or 'too big!' = bad fit.
If his feet look happy after a day running around, then I'm happy.
