I have been getting a strange message on my laptop since yesterday evening. It comes up in a big red box with like a workman logo at the side saying "Warning Entering this website may be harmful to your computer" There is then some more writing and at the bottom are 2 options "continue unsecured" or "get antivirus software" I already have internet security and have run the scan several times and nothing is showing up as threats or anything. If I click on the continue unsecured it takes me back to where I was altho9ugh getting on things is not as straight forward and the address in the bar at the top is not as it should be, and if I click on the get security software box nothing happens.I can't do the things I want to do whilst this is happening. Can anybody give me any suggestions what could be the problem here please.
Also when the red message appears which is almost every time it just says blocked at the top. Would appreciate any suggestions in plain old English please as most of the things of a similar nature I have been reading on here I don't understand and wouldn't know how to most of them. Thanks in advance.

    That usually happens to me

It's normally when there is a feature of that providers website that has been tested as unsafe.

It's implemented by Google or Microsoft if I remember, I can never bypass it because it's a safety feature. Admittedly I haven't really cared less and just looked elsewhere

You could try a proxy server if you REALLY want to look at that site, but if it's the one I'm thinking of (has a red border) then it's usually a safety feature. I thought it was spyware / malware at first, but I don't believe it is.

Its probably worth downloading Malwarebytes and carrying out a scan as detailed here - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=1354146&postcount=2 Make sure you update it before scanning.

The fact its trying to get you to install AV software makes me think it's malware related..

Thanks a lot turobob, it seems to have worked, well fingers crossed anyway.
The only thing I seem to have now is a Windows Message saying that it has blocked some start up programmes? Do I need to do anything with this?
