Hi all, I applied for a sainsburys CC for its )% purchase for 12 months offer and was declined. It then said at the end of the decition page this was not because of my credit report but because of there own critirea, and I also it said this CC application searkch will not affect my credit report.
Just thought I'd share that. ....So i wanr for a capital one card with )% purchase till Sep, I'm happy with that.
History, I have no missed Payments, I have a halifax card for 9 months now, paying off in full, 1 loan and overdraft, average -£2200 each month.
thanks H

every lender has certian people that they target. for example you may earn £15,000PA but they only accept ppl who earn over £20,000, they may only want ppl who work ft and you may work pt the list goes on.
You have been 'autodeclined' ie do not meet the lending criteria so they havent credit checked you - which is good as there wont be a search on there.
Its always worth looking at their lending criteria ie it may say you must be in ft employment and earning over £x PA0 -
Hi, thanks for that, I'm pritty sure they just said:
have a permanent UK address- be 18 or over
- not have been declined for credit in the last month
- not have a history of bad credit
- not be an existing Sainsbury's Bank Credit Card holder

Me again, I fit all the above but anyway, I got my 6 month 0% on purchases with capital one.

Sainsburys realised that they couldn't make any profit from you so said no.0
