Hi

Does anyone know of any banks that allow you to apply for current accounts by phone or online?

    Are you for real?
I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂

And you couldn't have just gone directly to any bank's website, found an account you liked and clicked "Apply"?

You'd be hard pressed to find one that doesn't.

Yes they do. By phone, at least, if not over the internet.

You can open the Current Account Plus, Readycash (basic current account) and student accounts over the phone. Their websites give a number to ring to do so. The only one you can't apply for over the phone is the Signature Current Account.

The first one I went to was clydesdale who dont offer applications online and wasnt clear if they done this over the phone.

The second one was RBS I couldnt find anywhere to apply but I have now found it.

I wasn't sure if you could apply online due to ID checks so I asked here

Thanks to those who gave helpfull advice
