scottish power - cancelled apps

Can anyone tell me how long cancelled apps stay on there systems?.
I signed up on thursday but as quidco didnt track i cancelled the app.
I re-signed up the next day but didnt get a confirmation email.
Today i rang them but they couldnt find the new app, they said its because theres a cancelled app currently on there system & the computer auto cancels it. (sommot about it classes it as a pending app).
when i asked how long till its removed, she just said it can take sometime..... lol
