Periodic Tenancy Agreement and rent increase

Hi

I am due to go onto a periodic tenancy agreement next month and I expect at some point son the Landlord will want to increase my rent. Can anyone tell me how much notice they have to give me for an increase in rent and does this mean I will have to sign another AST as it is a change to the agreement?

Here's some brief info on the processes that a landlord can go through to increase the rent. It does not require a new AST.

They can increase the rent by giving you notice of a rent increase. You have to be given at least a month's notice (to end at the end of a rent period) and the landlord cannot increase the rent less than a year since the last rent increase.
