Card refusal - reapply or ask them to reconsider?

Hi all
I was recently refused for a Sainsbury's card and then (should have done this first) checked my Experian record and found it massively out of date. I've corrected it now - am I best to ask Sainsbury's to reconsider the previously rejected application (they give you a ref no. and an address to write to) or make a new application?
Thanks in advance for the suggestions...

Yep - they've got my correct address and I'm showing as on the electoral roll plus all my credit accounts (no late payments) are up to date. Previously it was just showing really old ones from when I was a student and had a few late payments etc.0

Then write to them and ask them to reconsider as the information on your credit file was incorrect, and has now been rectified. If you apply again it will show the previous search on your file and it will go against you.Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043
