Combi boiler problem - no hot water in the taps if heating is off

Hi,

I have a boiler problem (an old Saunier Duval combi) - there's no hot water if the heating is switched off. When the heating's on all works fine.

I called a local plumber and he told me that this model is very unreliable and he just recommends replacing it with new, however I haven't had any problems with this boiler for years, and I'd rather avoid the expense of getting a new one (especially since we're planning to sell the property).

Any advice appreciated!

probably just needs a new diverter valve.

Yep I agree-mine did the same last year and that's what it was.I'd get someone out to look at it for free and get a quote-mine cost £100 to fix and has been fine since.

If you find the divertor, it might have a manual override. See if you can change this or if it's stuck in position.
