LloydsTSB hardship claim?

Options
Hi all,

A few questions regarding reclaiming against lloydsTSB, but first answers to a few questions i expect to be asked:

Income:

- £1493 per month currently arrested for 206 per month for council tax arrears

Prioirty debts:

- Rent arrears (almost got evicted due to arrears last month but managed to reduce, still c700 outstanding)
- Electricty arrears have a letter demanding payment for arrears
- Council tax arrears c1k, have a wages arrestment order in place for 206 per month
- Telephone/ TV (does this count as prioirty? if so add 200 for virgin servcies & orange

Other debts:

- Payday lenders (i tried to use these as a get out of jail card when i staretd having FD, instead it further compounded my financial difficulties) anyways c1k of outstanding
- An outstanding personla loan thatw as defaulted when i lost my job 2 years ago and i've never been able to make inroads into the debt 11k outstanding.

Additional things to consider re hardship claim:

- I currently have 0 funds available to last till the end of the month, my expenditure is normally 50-70 per week (travel costs, food etc)
- Currently the banka re demanding the return of my debit card and then they will arrange a temp overdraft to cover my outstanding balance with them

(£416 £410 of which is this months charges added to my account on 06/04)

when asked the question about using the overdraft for eprsonal expenses the woman actually chuckled on the phone and said they dont give them out to use for living expenses hence the return request

The bank charges

i have calculated 2.6k of charges over the last 5 years, and i am considering applying for a refund of these under the hardship route, i tick a few of the boxes (reorrucirng charges, over £500 in the last year (in teh last 2 months more like), unable to meet day to day expenses, unable to meet regular expenses, priority debts etc)

Im in a financial pickle at the minute and a return of even some of the chatrges would help out my situation greatly. re the other bits and pieces i have a thread in DFW forum and have organsied some drastic measures to sort it out.

Thanks for reading and thanks for any support. Oh and the questions:

- Hows the water for refund claims just now?
- Is Hardship the ebst route to be going down?
- Any advice re reclaiming charges?

Comments

  • I would say you need to look at how the financial hardship started and then work your way through it and write to the bank asap. The fact that they have looked at increasing the overdraft might be problematic but write to them asap./
