Just applied for a Santander credit card

How long until I find out if I have been accepted? It didn't say on the website or how I would find out either. Will it be by post, email etc...?

Cheers

I got a letter of acceptance after 3 weeks, returned agreement 2 weeks ago and no reply yet. Par for the course with Santander I understand.

I heard by post within 3 weeks of sending my application away. I didn't need to accept though, they just sent me a card and pin separately around a week after that.

  • Don't do it by post! I phoned the number on the website and got a 0% balance transfer there and then.

I also transfered my car credit to a loan at lower interest on the same day

You transferred your Santander Consumer Finance car agreement to a personal loan? Interesting - how much better was the rate and how long into the agreement were you?

I wouldn't normally apply by post either, but it was a postal application offer for existing santander customers, for a guaranteed card 0% for 15 months on balance transfers. I'd recommend phoning or applying online.

Might be best to chase them after a while. They've been known to decline people then not notify them.

Thanks everyone-should have rang them by the looks of things. I might leave it for a few days then give them a ring and ask them the same question I asked you. Might hurry them along a bit.

To clarify I applied online, but received all correspondance by post. Not a single email.

After they sent me the agreement I got 2 further letters within a week chasing me to sign and return it. They weren't in such a hurry to issue the card/pin and allow me to BT ...
