hello everyone
i was finished at the end of my fixed term contract after 8 months work and applied for my mortgage protection policy to kick in and pay my mortgage, but i got a phone call this morning saying i wouldn't receive a penny as i was on a fixed term contract until i was made permanent which never happened due to redundancies. i have paid my premium of £23 a month for 8 years with this company and i get sweet f.a loyalty for that. the reason for not paying out is i was on a fixed term contract and hadnt put 12 months works in with this company. i cant see anything i the small print which says otherwise.
my question is an i entitled to any help ie housing benefit to help me pay my mortgage due to this. i am on jobseekers allowance, married with two children.
any help would be appreciated thanks.
very unhappy:(

Does your partner work full time? How much do they earn?

Unfortunately as you have discovered you are not covered when working fixed term contracts although I bet when it was sold to you nobody pointed it out to you (although you may have had a permanent job when you initially took out policy?) - when I got my first mortgage 11 years ago this product was sold to me - it took months of hassle to finally get it cancelled as it did not cover me working fixed term contracts (including an 18 month contract which was what the mortgage had been based upon) - basically I was paying for nothing. So sorry about your case - maybe you could get some of your premiums back which is what happened to me:j:T Total Prize Value 2012 - £1835 :T:j
:AThanx to all the good people that post comps (and answers!):A
