I've just had a thought whilst trying to stay asleep in bed on a sunny Sunday morning:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Anyway, What if the catering company sold the tickets for us, deducted their expenses then gifted the rest to the PTA as a donation. They would obviously pay Income Tax on the ticket sales... But if they handed over a sum of money as a donation would they get any tax relief themselves from it? I'm not sure if this will be worth it or not.. My basic estimates (as I have not been passed the final accounts from this years ball so far) are that this year we would be nearly £1500 better off if we paid Income Tax on the ticket sales and no Vat on the catering - but I'm not even sure if you can do this.

Thanks once again for your replies...
