PPI Reclaim Advise

I wonder if somebody Can advise or help me.

I have recently sent a letter using the Templates provided on this website to reclaim my insurnace which I think I was misold.

However since recieving the original application documents I am now doubting my case.

I originally took out a 23K loan in marc 2006. It was online via Moneyback Bank (part of A&L) My agreement shows that I ticked the box stating I wish to purchase the PPI but the problem is I cannot remember if it was enforced on me at the time of applying for teh loan online.

I am now thinking that I have a weak case.

Does anybody else have a similar experience or can tell me what their thoughts are on the matter.

As I have said I have sent the letter to A&L (now Santander) and have about 5 weeks to go until they have to reply based on the letter template on this website.

Any views or opinions greatly appreciated

Many thanks in advance

    dugma,

Does sound like it is a weak case - hard to argue the insurance was compulsory if it was a tick box on the online application. Although I bet the tick box was ticked initially and you had to make a conscious decision to opt out.

Do you have any pre-existing medical conditions that might make the insurance invalid? Are you self employed? You could argue misselling from that angle potentially?

Smile :), it makes people wonder what you have been up to.

Although it was an online application teh tick box was actually on an agreement which was sent in the post! I do recall it being something that it was pre-ticked previously. Unfortunatley am not self emplyed or have any medical conditions.

The evidence from both sides is going to be hard to obtain seeing as it was an online application but as stated the agreement for signing was sent through the post!

So am keeping my fingers crossed!
