MBNA BT-please help

Hi guys,

Quick question:

I had a balance of 2k on my MBNA card which I paid last week, now account shows 0. Is it ok to do a balance transfer now ( I have an offer of 0% which I need to use), or do I need to wait until they actually release the statement ?...

Thanks and sorry to come across slightly stupid :o, I'm just paranoid that if I don't do it right I get caught with some charges...

You are trying to BT to the MBNA card? You didn't make that clear.

Sorry Any, yes. The reason I paid the 2 k off ( which were at 0.9% until June) is so I have a clean sheet to do this new BT offer which runs 'til December.

I am fairly sure you don't have to wait until the statement, but you could give them a ring and just double check with them.
Are you sure there is no trailing interest? Your account definitely says 0?Ie have you paid the statement balance + a little for any interest that will be incured for the time between statement being issued and the payment being made.

Thanks for the reply Any :)

The account shows 0 and my full creddit limit available, and the trailing interest is why I'm a bit unsure, it wouldn't be much, I think it was £1.60 or so interest last month, but that wouldn't invalidate my 0% offer, even if this interest of a couple of quid was to accumulate untill December, would it ?...

I know I'm not very good at explaining this....:(

I have overpaid by £2.35 , which shows in my credit limit available.

I think in that case you should be fine.
The only way to be sure for 100% would be to give them a ring.

But you are right, even in the worse case scenario the interest till December on that £1.60 wouldn't be much....

Yeah, I know... they constantly keep sending out offers, whether you have balance or not and then they stop and then start...
Don't worry too much. They are always very helpful on the phone and as long as you take their full name and write down the exact time of the phone call you will have some come back as well just in case they would lie to you...:D
