Yes, I researched this for another thread and came to exactly the same conclusion. I think we just need to emphasise time and time again... DO NOT PAY MONEY TO ANYONE WHO SAYS THEY CAN GET YOU A LOAN. DO NOT GIVE YOUR CREDIT CARD DETAILS TO ANYONE WHO SAYS THEY CAN GET YOU A LOAN.

The money was fraudulently taken from my account.

They took my card details over the phone when I applied for a loan. They assured me that no money would be taken from the account until I'd signed the paper work.

The paperwork was never signed, and the money taken.

If the transaction was not authorised, why then are you not pursuing it through the bank?

    That's what I would do.
  • Hi

This happened to me. The Financial Ombudsman are writing to them on my behalf and I can expect to receive a reply to my complaint within 8 weeks.

This doesnt mean I will get my money back but this is a very dubious company and the more people that take this route to complain the better as they are taking advantage of vunerable people who may not be able to get a loan from the usual bank lenders.

Bentley Cooper are supposed to be licensed credit brokers but their whole way of going about business is very suspect and the customer services just do not know what they are doing.

Financial Ombudsman tel : 0300 123 9123 they will write to them on your behalf. Good Luck!

    Kiss goodbye to that cash.

  • did you read their terms and conditions? or did you happily give over your bank details to someone you did not know form adam, and believe them when they said no money would be taken?

a simple google search 'bentley cooper' would have saved you that £99.99

I wonder how many 99.99 lumps of cash these people manage to get per day?

It's basically printing money this loan broker scam. I may even start Elvis Loans :D Give Elvis a pony and he will find you a "loan"

  • Hi guys,

I've just spent the best part of 20 minutes on the phone with Bentley Cooper trying to get a refund for the £99.99 they took from me.

I keep getting told that I'll get a callback between 4pm and 6pm (which is the only time their refund department has staff) but the call never comes.

It's funny, because when I was on the phone with an 'advisor', who's only job is to fill an application in, she told me that the refunds department was busy at the moment sorting paperwork. I was then transferred to another 'advisor' who told me that there was only one staff member in the refunds department and that they weren't in until 4pm.

Has anybody had any luck getting money back from this company?

We're taking the matter to the police if the callback doesn't come today. They tool the £99.99 unlawfully in the first place.

    Any advice guy
I've spent the last 8 months trying to get a refund of £99.99 from these thieves,i've been in touch with the FSA and the financial ombudsman the office of fair trading and all have done nothing and have no powers to do anything,it seems they can take money from people without fear of any come backs, lesson learnt and advice to all is NEVER EVER GIVE YOUR BANK CARD DETAILS TO ANYONE OVER THE PHONE FOR WHATEVER REASON IF THEY ASK THEY DON'T GET,EVERYONE IS OUT TO ROB YOU!!!!!!!

There are no reputable financial insitutions anywhere they are all fuelled by the desire to part you from your hard earned cash, ask yourselves if you really can live without getting in debt!I will never ever borrow money again,i've cut up all my cards if i can't afford something i don't have it,simple thing really i'm still alive and i haven't got the pressure of owing money.

I'm more surprised how people seem so amazed these companies can get away with it.

    IS IT ANY WONDER???

There is simply no end to the amount of people who will dish out access straight into their bank account without a second thought.

These companies will not close down, they will simply change names and carry on, like I said, there is simply no end to the customer base, they are queueing around the block to give their details out.
